Angels & Demons
A photographer with whom we worked recently described Balans Soho Society as ‘the fallen angel of Soho, tempting humans to sin…’ Admittedly, he was somewhat in his cups, drinking rather too many Porn Star Martinis post-shoot, but quite honestly we thought it was the nicest thing that anyone has ever said about us. So naturally, when we heard that the National Gallery was holding a course throughout July entitled ‘Angels and Demons’, exploring how are the supernatural beings of heaven and hell have been represented in art over the years, we snapped up tickets, certain that we would be featured somewhere along the line…
In three parts, the course looks at art from the Renaissance to the present day, by painters as diverse as Bartolomé Bermejo, Hieronymus Bosch and Bridget Riley.
It sounds absolutely fascinating.
