Conceptual NYC electro-clash duo, Fischerspooner release their first new material since 2009’s ‘Entertainment’ this month with a new album, ‘Sir’. Sexually charged and extravagantly retro-futuristic, it charts an especially turbulent period in singer Casey Spooner’s personal life, creating passionate work that’s both ‘queer-lustrous’ and revealing. Produced an co-written by Michael Stipe, late of REM, it has ‘an ear for legacy rock bands, like The Velvet Underground and T. Rex – a collaborative study in relinquishing control and reflecting on love’.
