Having just jetéd through another London Fashion Week like the trend-hungry monkeys we are, Balans Soho Society was thrilled to learn the news that the Prada Group owned pasticceria, Marchesi 1824 is to open a new branch in London in April. When life is lived almost entirely on the pages of Instagram there is nowhere better to buy one’s panetonne. Gloriously photogenic, their delicious pastries and sweet treats have been the talk of Milan forever. We can’t help but notice the irony, of course, that part of the fashion industry better known for promoting the somewhat rigid adherence to the cult of Twiggydom, now owns several temples to sugar and fat, but it’s those fun little contradictions that make life so interesting, isn’t it?
The first British outpost of the Marchesi brand set to open on Mount Street this April, just across from The Connaught.
