South Side Swizzler
This cocktail, devised by the lovely Emma Watson (our mixologist at Clapham) with the help Stephen from Pococello and Charlie from Hi-Spirits to celebrate the opening of our latest branch in Clapham was originally going to be called ‘The Clap’. Sadly, while plainly hilarious, this was eventually thought to be less than tasteful by the powers that be who reasoned that asking a waiter for ‘The Clap’ was simply looking for trouble. So this delicious ‘summer in a glass’ mix of vodka, Pococello Limoncello, Lemon, Gomme Syrup, finished with Soda became ‘The South Side Swizzler’ – perfect for long afternoons on our terrace in Clapham in the sun.
South Side Swizzler Cocktail Recipe
25ml ‘Our London’ vodka
25ml ‘Pococello’ Limoncello
15ml Gomme syrup
5 Slapped mint leaves
Pour the vodka, Limoncello, lemon and gomme into a tall glass over ice and stir well with a bar spoon.
Slap the mint leaves between your hands to release their scent and stir in, not too vigorously as to bruise them. Add soda and give one final stir.
Top with fresh ice, garnish with edible viola and serve.
