The London Dessert Festival

Promising ‘sensory experiences, tantalising tastes, enticing scents and intriguing installations’, the very first London Dessert Festival is being held at The Old Truman Brewery on the 17th and 18th August 2019. With a festival for every other type of food being held every 5 minutes, it was only a matter of time before desserts got a look in. Colour us surprised it’s taken this long.

We’re taking the description of the event as an ‘experiential festival celebrating sensory indulgence’ to mean that basically, you get to stuff your face with all manner of sugary treats like cereal cocktails, macaron ice cream sandwiches, frozen s’mores, cookie shots and more for a couple of hours. We cannot imagine a better way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Big names from the world of desserts will be out in force, from god-like chocolatier Paul A Young, culinary genius Nicolas Rouzaud, and top pastry chef Helen Clark. Brands like Hotel Chocolat, Kalifornia Kitchen, and The Brooklyn Bakery will also be on hand to dole out some extra sweetness to anyone who isn’t racing across the ceiling in the middle of a sugar rush and as nothing has really ever happened anymore unless someone has taken a photograph of it, the whole event is designed to be instantly Instagrammable.
